Poor Product and Service
This item did not work after delivery for Christmas. I ordered a replacement January 4. I am still waiting on delivery of the replacement item on January 17 after selecting for 2-day delivery through Amazon. The delivery was outsourced to UPS, who now says the item should be delivered by January 23. This has been a waste of energy on my part, and I wish I had purchased through a regular retailer. Lesson learned!

Step down from the Pulse 3
I previously owned the Pulse 3 and loved it, (I left it at a friends house and his daughter loved it so much I said she could keep it) so I decided to get the 4.In my opinion there are no improvements what so ever, only steps down.Things i dislike about the new design:-Light element is encased in thick acrylic now, much smaller display of light effects and distorts or disappears when viewed from a higher or lower angle (see pic 1)-Removed speakers wrapping the lower skirt of the 3, speakers now only top and bottom, worse sound quality than the 3-Moved the buttons to wrapping around the top instead of in one place, making it necessary to spin the speaker to access different functions (and get the speaker more wet if you take it to a pool party, like i used to with the 3)-Charging port no longer has rubber trap door protecting it (once again, less waterproof?)I still absolutely love the Pulse 3, if I had known #4 was hands down inferior I would have purchased 3 again instead of its dimmer younger brother

Great bass and sound
I had the much much much older model of this and it was time to upgrade. I keep mine on a rack in the shower and I love . Zero issues with the humidity and accidental splash. It’s bright so when i want to relax i turn off the lights and have a good time. It can get really loud but the quality of sound is great

Delivers on sound and visualizations
The seal was broken on the sticker tabs on the box when I received so I was concerned I received a used product, but upon very close examination I found no blemishes on the glass body and it functioned perfectly.The Bass packs some punch for a speaker of this profile and the high end is crisp but not tinny. Wish there were bass/treble knobs or buttons for EQ fine-tuning. The battery life is the real deal.. spent a full day with it by the pool and still had about 30% battery.Connectivity is decent. Had a couple drop offs at about 12-15 feet from the phone. Companion app works fine for tweaking the light show. Overall very pleased with the purchase.

long lasting battery, cool color lights
I bought this for my girlfriend for her birthday. she is a millennial and she loves to just have music playing where ever she is. So she carries it around her place with her – whether she’s doing make-up, stuff in the kitchen, or elsewhere in her place, she just brings it with here where ever she is. she says it sounds WAY better than her prior speaker, and plays for hours and hours. she likes the lights as well – she is a real estate agent so she also takes it to open houses so there’s music purring away in the background, the lights add to the mood for that. and it’s nice in the eve in a dark room. also, it’s waterproof! pairing seems to be air tight so far. no calling or siri access, but that isn’t something she wanted, she just wanted the music aspect w/ lights.

i love jbl speakers. ive had one for 5 years. i recen tly bought this lava lamp looking speaker. it sounds great. looks great feels great. but thetes a defect on my speakers…..the inside has like a leak or something. i just got this its been a week.i noticed the defect on the 2nd day. not happy too happy about it.

Amazing light show

So! I had issues with the delivery. Basically my apartment complex is three separate buildings and it was delivered to the one I was not living in. But, customer service was amazing and helped me find out which of the two other buildings it was in. Long story short, after chatting with customer service, I found my package and charged it up and now I am thrilled.I love how bright the lights are even when I have it turned on in my kitchen with both puck lights and pendent lights on. I am not an audiophile or whatever you call it but I can say that for an “average” person I love the sound. I have it on fairly low, with my sliding door open living in a busy downtown city and the sound is still great. This speaker is even more amazing at night. My friend previously had the pulse 2 that I used to use but this pulse 4 is so much sleeker. You could really tell that the pulse 2 was a speaker but this pulse 4 just beautifully blends in with my apartment and the decor. The sound is great but the lights just elevate it even more. For the people who love self care, relaxing with the sound on your chest and the lights dancing around in the room is so peaceful. Also I downloaded the app which is also amazing because I can customize the lights from my phone instead of having to walk up to the speaker.Lastly, I really like how the buttons are raised/ lit up. It really helps you determine which is which, especially at night.

Great product, not very portable
Let me start this off by saying I love JBL and I think they make really high quality products. My friend first introduced me to the Pulse 4 when he showed up with it one day at his house. Now this speaker is really fricking cool. The lights are super cool, I really enjoy that you can control the brightness of the lights, the custom setting is cool (if a bit seizure inducing), the lights are gorgeous with no pixels at all, the sound quality is good considering it’s only got one speaker on top unlike most JBL speakers and it’s overall just a really cool speaker for any occasion.My only issue with the Pulse 4 is the fact that it’s glass. Granted, the glass makes the lights about 10x cooler; however, THIS SPEAKER IS NOT PORTABLE. The fact that 90% of the speaker is glass means that this thing is a major pain in the neck to take anywhere. Even just moving it to another room is hard. The lack of non-glass surface area means any contact leaves smudges if you’re holding the glass or pushing every single button and/or risking dropping the speaker and damaging it considering it is glass and very fragile. Any attempt to protect the speaker with a case defeats the purpose of the speaker lights.Overall I really like this speaker and think it’s a really good investment (when it’s on sale). I got it for something like $157 and I really like it. I use for almost everything (really cool in the shower). Would definitely recommend it to anyone considering it. 4 stars out of 5

Worse than the Pulse 2 somehow
Loved my pulse 2, but it’s ancient and dying, so it was time to “upgrade”I figured it’d be terrific, but boy howdy, was I wrong.First the sound. The heavy acrylic case means sounds only comes out of the end, rather than radiating through the whole unit. As a result, it’s extremely “point like” sound. High end phones have better sound stages, I’m not joking.The sound also has more distortion than my 8 year old pulse 2, at medium volume.It for sure has more bass, but what good is that when it sounds like a glorified phone speaker?The lights though, they must make up for it, right?Ehhhhh. The acrylic case has no anti-smudge, and **every smudge** shows with the lights on. So it constantly looks like trash. The old speaker looked pretty enough without ever needing to worry about it. I wish I could say the light patterns are a huge upgrade… but not really. There’s no speed control, and most of the lights look frenetic. Only the “spiritual” setting is pretty, and I admit, it’s quite nice. Even the fire looks a little too digital and flickery.On top of it all, it’s so heavy that it’s really not a “throw it in your bag, just in case” speaker.So. Don’t bother. Buy a lavalamp and JBL speaker that focuses on sound.

Great Speaker
This thing has beautiful lights that brings a nice vibe to our living room whenever we want to listen to some music. I connect it to our Amazon echo and the kids and wife loves it. Very heavy to make this thing portable but sound quality is amazing which is expected from JBL product. It gets moved around the living room and that’s about it. Don’t see myself carrying this whenever I head out. There are better sounding speakers for the price but we want a light show that brings in an extra dimension and this thing excels at that.

Every frequency is extended well with a lot of great details. Battery life is good. The only downside is heating up of LED after prolonged periods of use and sometimes the speaker hibernates and gets disfunctional and can’t power off.

Like a lava lamp but better!
The sound quality is amazing. It’s solidly built even though it is covered in high-grade, thick transparent acrylic and rubberized ends. It’s waterproof, and easy to clean. It is a bit heavy so you’ll want to get a case if possible. It’s also good to protect the clear plastic surround against scratches. It doesn’t scratch easily, but I wouldn’t recommend throwing it in a bag uncovered with objects hitting it. Battery length is great and charges fast. The JBL App can be a bit flaky but works 95% of the time. Pairing the speaker to another Pulse is super easy and sounds amazing. The only thing I would gripe about is the lack of a simplified rubber case to protect the really gorgeous acrylic surround. Nothing fancy, just a holder or something to help transport it. Other than that, the speaker is amazing. I liked it so much I bought 2.

Beautiful speaker with great sound!
I have several JBL speakers, including the flip 4, flip 5, charge 4 and clip 4. They all have decent sound, I wanted this one for the lights. I found this at the Verizon store while upgrading my phone, but wanted controls on the speaker itself, so when I found this version in white with the controls I grabbed it. I love the control over the colors with the JBL app, although I think that the sound quality is a little diminished because the speaker has been moved to the top and bottom so the lights take center stage. My charge 4 definitely has better sound than this newer model.It lives in my bedroom so I can’t speak to the waterproof factor, but overall I like the speaker – I just wish they would have included upgraded sound, especially at this price point.

Love this speaker!
When my last bluetooth speaker died, I needed to get another and a friend of mine recommended this one. It’s a bit pricey but hopefully it lasts longer than the last one. I went with this one because of the brand and they seem to stand behind their products. I like that the color changes with the volume level, and I really like that I can turn off the color if I want to. I think it has a good range of connectivity, and I like that it has the indicator on the back side to let you know when your charge is starting to get low. I definitely recommend this item. (Buy it when it’s on sale if you can).

Cool gadget!
Bought this JBL Pulse 4 speaker for myself and I’m super happy with it! The sound is great, and the light effects are just out of this world. In the evening, I turn on the music, the lights flash to the beat – and my mood instantly lifts. The battery lasts a long time, so it’s perfect to take on a picnic or to the cottage. All in all, money well spent. Highly recommend!

MOOD SETTER!
You wanna talk about jack of all trades?! This speaker covers it all. You having a rough day and need to workout but don’t want to hear anything, not even your own breathing?! This speaker will cover you! You want to work on something in the garage and drown out all other noise? Boom covered. You want to spark a recreational adult “cigarette” and enjoy a nice vibe, oh boy does this speaker give you that. Hot date? It’s good but…
I really like how it looks but had to rerun it because the bass is underneath, which means whenever you have it playing, it sounds off, because the voice sound is on top and the bass underneath, if that makes sense. You could place it horizontally to a better sound but it’s not really meant for that and also it can roll over and drop, I like how it looks but not how the sound works. Sadly had to return.

This Bluetooth speaker is very loud and sounds amazing and is totally worth it I definitely recommend it. It is a bit heavy and on the bulky side so I’d be careful where you place it but other than that it’s a really great speaker 👍

Very cool RGB speaker!

I wanted a replacement shower speaker, and boy does this exceed any of my expectations! Not only is it waterproof, has great sound quality, and is beyond perfect for my shower, but I want to use it everywhere!Connects easily via Bluetooth, and starts up and powers down quickly. All the button features are very easy to use, and I even used the JBL app to connect it and change the lights and such and I haven’t had any issues with the app so far. The light features are very cool, and even on the lowest brightness setting (can be adjusted via the app), it is VERY bright. For such a small, rechargeable speaker, the bass is VERY strong and the best of any speaker I own. The battery life is quite long — I’ve used it a few times now at length and I haven’t even needed to charge it once yet.My only issue with it is there’s no way to go back a song. There’s a way to go to the next song or fast forward, but no way to rewind or go back to a song by pressing a button on the speaker. That’s a really minor issue though, and doesn’t bother me much.

The sound quality is amazing and the lighting is awesome it displays different lighting for different songs and different lighting that you can pick from. The battery life seems to work forever because my son never charges anything and that is still working and his birthday was at the beginning of March.

The sound is amazing. I actually took the kids to the hotel for the weekend & other people had music playing on larger rolling speakers & this one was louder! The battery last forever I’m a stay at home mom and I like to listen to music while I clean,cook,excercise & do homework. I even listen to Mozart to unwind after bed. I pretty much use this thing all day everyday. The battery lasts for days I’ve had it for a week now and I’ve only charged it once. It also came pre charged. It’s built great super sturdy! Then to top it off they gave me a complimentary upgrade to a brand new one. I chose to purchase a used one but I got super lucky to get a new one. Overall I’m overly satisfied. If you guys at GLAMAZON see this I just want to say thank you so much! 💜🥰
