Love it, the big screen, light weight and speed

Love the new Mac Air. Speed, bigger screen, light weight, able to communicate and transfer data to my other Apple devices with ease. Internet security seems much better than PC. With the discount price purchased, love the purchased. BTW, LibreOffice works similar like MS Office in Mac world and is free.

An amazing machine in every way

I previously had a mid-2015 MacBook Pro for video editing, and now have upgraded to this M2 MacBook Air. The performance is amazing. Everything about it exceeded my expectations. I was on the fence about whether to go for the Air or another Pro, as it turns out the Air is powerful enough for all my needs, is lightweight, the battery just goes and goes and the screen is amazing. Could not be happier with this, highly recommended!

    Fast and light

This is a great laptop. It is very fast and light. The keyboard and touch pad feel nice and their size is appropriate. The finger scan is a nice feature that allows you to unlock without the password. Not all applications work perfectly with the M2, but most do.

I Like It More Than I thought I Would

I was concerned about going from an old 17″ MacBook Pro to a much smaller 15″ screen. Honestly it’s not a big deal and this is so much lighter it’s hard to explain what a difference it makes.Just buy one you will not be sorry.

    This one blew my mind

Ok, I keep my devices for long, so I was updating from a 2013 MBP to this 15 inch M2 MBA. It is quiet, fast, lightweight, powerful, sound is amazing. I’m basically impressed. Now we’ll see if durability is as good as it’s predecessors of old.

    Highly Recommend this MacBook Air

I bought this to replace an “aging” one. I’m typing on it right now. I spent many hours every day on it and it is outstanding, as I’ve come to expect with Apple products. I haven’t had one problem with it. Highly recommend this product, as I already have to several of my friends. One bought one and loves it!

I needed to upgrade my computer and I am absolutely satisfied. I am so glad I upgraded the memory. I definitely needed the extra memory to run all of my CAD CD software programs.

    Excellent battery life!

Got this for my wife and she absolutely loves it. The batter life is fantastic and the screen is beautiful. It’s also very thin for transporting.

    Great computer

Could not be happier with the M2 computer. Fast, easy, just a terrific piece of technology. My only issue is I prefer working with Excel and other Windows products. Have not figured out how to rep[lace numbers with Excel.

It is much faster than previous versions.

I haven’t had this very long, but Time Machine has improved. You can download an App. and it will also appear on my other Apple devices. So far, I think it’s great….

Fast, light and made of quality materials

Great laptop for everyday use. Ultra portable and the battery lives up to the claims. I’d rate if 5 stars if it ran all the software I needed it to. However, since it uses Apple silicon, there are some limitations or workarounds one must take into consideration when using some applications. Run a search online to make sure your software will run natively on this laptop.

Came an entire week earlier than originally projected! Was in brand new condition in original packaging and came fully charged and ready to go. Very pleased with this purchase! Had a slight issue with AppleCare getting taken off but issue fixed itself and it was added back on to the order.

Being new to the Mac world it’s different and going to take some time getting used to but it’s definitely as advertised so far so good I’ve already put some protection around it to preserve the aesthetics.

Stupid Fast, But Get A Case

Love love love this thing! Super fast and setup was easy (as long as you know your AppleID info and are installing a previous backup etc). Screen is much bigger than I anticipated, also easier to open the lid than the older MacBook Airs.I would HIGHLY recommend getting a case for this, like a hardshell case…the Midnight one collects fingerprints like flies on crap. Don’t forget to sign out of iCloud and other stuff on your older machine if upgrading and (iof course) do a full backup on your old machine….but you all already knew that, right?

The best possible laptop for the money

I do like Apple laptops, but I’m going to keep this review very unbiased. I also bought a PC gaming laptop around this same time, so I can also compare the two! This laptop costs a little more than most comparable PCs.The build quality is spectacular. It’s like a thin, smooth, block of aluminum. Light and rigid. It opens beautifully and let’s move onto the important parts:An entry-level macbook air might not help you much with ‘gaming’ or extremely compute-intensive activities (might need the Macbook Pro)… but this baby has it where it counts! BATTERY LIFE! I did regular web-browsing and emailing heavily for almost 6 hours straight….and the battery dropped from 100% to 98%. No joke. Apple has some serious technological advantage here…compare it to your current laptop and it’ll beat it. I promise.THE SCREEN! The quality, contrast, colors, and resolution of this macbook air screen beats every PC computer I’ve ever owned. It’s just beautiful.THE SOUND. I bought a low-end gaming laptop that advertises amazing Dolby DTS sound etc…..it’s garbage compared to this macbook pro. This thing is so thin and pretty, I honestly can’t even find the speakers on it– but the sound is bigger and richer than anything I’ve had. I don’t understand how Apple does it, but it’s worth every penny. This review has gone on longer than I expected….let me just say this thing is fast, pretty, and has the best features that really MATTER for a daily laptop. Gaming/extra power isn’t what this is for, but it’s perfect for absolutely all daily usage! Cheers

    Great laptop

I bought this laptop for my dad as a gift, who had a severely out of date MacBook. He loves this new laptop and is constantly using it for research (rebuilding a 1953 Chevy truck) or playing games. It is fast and easy for him to use, and he appreciates the large and bright display, the long battery life, and the silent and fanless design. The M2 chip delivers amazing performance and graphics, and the Touch ID makes it convenient and secure to log in. The laptop is also very thin and light, and the MagSafe charging is a nice touch. He also likes that he can sync his iPhone and iPad with the laptop, and use features like AirDrop and Continuity. This is a great laptop for anyone who wants a powerful and portable machine that works well with Apple devices.

MacBook Air M2: Light as a Feather, Powerful as a Hurricane

MacBook Air M2: Light as a Feather, Powerful as a HurricaneLet me start by saying this is my inaugural MacBook experience, and boy, did I make the right choice with the MacBook Air M2. The struggle between the Air and the Pro was real, but let me assure you, the Pro would have been sheer overkill for my needs. The Air, on the other hand, is nothing short of a technological masterpiece. Now, let’s talk battery life. Picture this: the Energizer Bunny looks at my MacBook Air and says, “Hey, slow down!” The battery life on this thing is not just impressive; it’s like a magical well that never runs dry. I’m convinced it runs on fairy dust because it outlasts the longest of workdays, making the concept of charging seem like a distant memory. A full 8-10 hours? Try a battery life that defies the laws of physics. In reality, a full day of building websites, from dawn till dusk, is a walk in the park for this powerhouse. It scoffs at the idea of needing a charge and keeps chugging along like it’s powered by pure determination. Now, let’s delve into the performance. This laptop is the epitome of versatility. For 98% of users, it’s a dream come true. Whether you’re juggling multiple tabs, occasional video editing, or tweaking those stunning photographs, the MacBook Air M2 handles it all with grace. And let’s not forget the 16GB of RAM—it’s the secret sauce that keeps everything running buttery smooth. The build quality is nothing short of exquisite. It’s like holding a piece of fine art or a meticulously crafted sculpture. The laptop is so shockingly lightweight; you might forget it’s in your bag. Yet, its premium feel assures you that you’re cradling a work of technological art.The 15.3-inch screen is a visual feast. Crystal clear, bright, and vibrant with colors that pop like a fireworks display. It’s a canvas for your digital endeavors, making every task a joy. This MacBook has handled everything I’ve thrown at it with ease, and trust me, I’ve thrown a lot.In conclusion, if you’re like me and agonized over the MacBook decision, let me save you some sleepless nights. The MacBook Air M2 is not just a laptop; it’s a lifestyle upgrade. It’s the perfect balance of power, portability, and sheer delight. Now, let’s talk about the leap from Windows to Mac. As a longtime Windows user, the switch was surprisingly smooth. MacOS is a breath of fresh air, with its intuitive design and seamless integration. The learning curve felt more like a gentle slope, and soon enough, I was navigating with the finesse of a seasoned Mac user. The ecosystem harmony is real. My MacBook effortlessly syncs with my iPhone and other Apple devices, creating a unified digital experience that feels like pure magic. So, to my fellow Windows veterans considering the switch, fear not.Yours in MacBook bliss…

I mean, it’s a 15inch MacBook Air – the perfect compromise between weight, power, and screen size.

This computer is pretty much perfect. It’s light, it’s sleek. Its fast. It’s actually made me enjoy using a computer again. I got the midnight color and honestly, fingerprints aren’t any worse with this color vs any other color. Yes, they are present, but a quick wipe erases them. And then you’ve got the best looking computer in the coffee shop. Looking at you, you young professional at the coffee shop. Looking so cool.If you’ve read any reviews on these computers you’ll hear all of them conclude with this: If you’re like 90% of people and use their computer for normal things like checking email, writing, using regular apps, basic movie / music editing. Then this is the best computer for you. Why look anywhere else? The screen is huge. The laptop is light. It looks legit. The keyboard is great. The speakers are reasonable. The FaceTime camera is great. If you’re life is editing movies then you probably already know that this M2 processor will do the job for you, but it’ll come at a cost. The MacBook Air m2 processor is meant for efficiency, but it’s not going to export as fast as a pro m2. In saying that..this processor is so much faster than anything in the past 5 years that even if you’re used to having a pro computer, and its a few years old, you’ll still find yourself with a very capable machine.I was between this and an iPadPro. I went with this because until apple gets its act together an iPad is still an iPad. Anybody who tells you they use it for their daily driver has done a lot work to learn how to navigate the iPad OS to make it work like a MacBook. If you want something cool to look at pictures, browse the internet, do some writing, maybe some call of duty mobile – then get an iPad. If you want a computer. Get a MacBook Air. If you’re a heavy gamer, or do a ton of video editing (like your whole workflow) Then get a MacBook Pro 14 air 16 inch. They are incredible, but not something most people will need. For what it’s worth, I do video editing with this M2 machine and for me it works great. I don’t mind waiting an extra 10min on an hour long project to export. The experience while I edit is still super smooth, I just need to wait a bit once I’m done to view my finished product. To conclude. If you’re 90% of the world. Just get the MacBook Air. If you can – get the 512gb hard drive. They’re faster than their 256gb base counterpart. However, if you’re upgrading both your hard driver AND the ram. I think I would just go for a 14inch MacBook Pro. The price difference isn’t too much and that 120hz refresh rate on the 14inch pros is noice. But, coming from somebody who notices that sort of stuff, you won’t miss the refresh rate on the air. Like you would between an iPad Air vs iPad Pro.Ask questions! I’ve got answers!

I Didn’t Need It, But I Had To Buy It

I have owned Macintosh/Apple computers exclusively since 1990, and my most recent Apple purchase in August 2023 was a Mac Studio with an M2 Max chip, which I love. But after I bought my wife a Silver 2023 MacBook Air M2 for Christmas and played with it for a while, I was so impressed that I had to buy one for myself in Starlight. My main “rationale” was to provide a portable option to my Mac Studio, which is a desktop. With its M2 chip the 2023 MacBook Air is a fast machine that’s extremely attractive, solidly well-built and with a very thin and lightweight profile. And since it’s an Apple, the customer service and technical support is first rate. My only regret is that I probably should have upgraded the RAM memory from 8 to 16 as well as increased the hard drive’s storage capacity from 256 GB to 512. Nevertheless, my MacBook Air is a pleasure to use and I am grateful to Apple for providing a very cost effective alternative to the equally beautiful MacBook Pro.

Fast, long battery life, great looking and very portable…The perfect laptop for many!

This 15in Apple Macbook Air is incredible! I really appreciate the 15.3in screen size compared to the smaller 13.6in model. The speed is fantastic, the battery life is awesome and the portability is great. Thank you to Apple for listening to what consumers want in a lightweight powerhouse computer. If you do not need all the things that the Macbook Pro models offer this is a perfect option. You really do not need the 16gb unified memory but I would and did opt for the 512gb memory! I highly recommend this laptop!!

    Fabulous computer…great Amazon regular price

I bought this a week ago and finally accepted Amazon’s offer for their own credit card, something I had stupidly ignored for years. My big point about Apple prices is that they are surprisingly “bouncy” at Amazon and everywhere. Today’s price is very competitive with the market, still $50 less than pricing being advertised by another widely respected vendor. But a week ago, it was $250 less than today’s price, which I combined with the $150 gift card promotion and so paid $400 less than today’s fair and competitive price. Most notably, there was no particular promotion from Apple or Amazon and this was a couple of weeks outside Amazon’s recent Prime Days. I often look at Apple prices on Amazon, and I am sure I checked them during Prime Days, although I don’t remember exactly what that price was. It may have been as low, but temptation is a combination of price and my mood on any given day. Lucky for me that my endorphins were high a week ago, and I went for it!About M1 and M2: I have both models of the Mini. When the M2 was new, amazingly, it was available here and elsewhere at about a 10% discount on the M1 price. (Yes, the newer model was cheaper!). Meanwhile, reviewers where saying that the M2 advantage was minimal for ordinary users. Be careful what garbage you trust! It seemed solid, careful reviewers on Youtube NOT pushing the latest and greatest. But they were so wrong! The M2 is strikingly snappier than the M1, at least with 8 MB of memory. (Time was when I wouldn’t think of less than 16 GB of memory, a habit born on Windows PCs when we were were talking ~mega~ instead of ~giga~ bytes. I am a “power user” but not a user of “power apps,” i.e., no games, no video editing, etc. But I run a lot of simultaneous apps and keep a LOT of browser tabs open. On the modern Mac, I don’t notice any performance difference between 8 and 16 GB. This is huge on the Mac given Apple’s memory pricing and inability to upgrade.)Back to M1 v. M2, I notice that this listing from Amazon includes the claim (with Apple logo) that the M2 is 1.4x faster than the M1. Believe it! 1.4x is a huge performance boost and sure feels snappier to me (although the M1 is no slouch).Although this is my first M-series Macbook, I have owned several other Macbooks, all 13″. Obviously, smaller is a bit more convenient, especially for students and other who lug them around a lot. And I have always felt that lighter laptops were more durable, because heavier ones tend to get banged around a lot more in daily use even if you don’t drop them. But I had not realized how light this 15″ Macbook is! A total joy that handles very easily. And, oh yea, obviously that bigger screen is great. One new feature that I considered trivial is the magic key that reads your fingerprint. It’s not trivial! It is super convenient in an era when (Apple and Google) are constantly pestering you for passwords. Just love this new wrinkle.Mostly, I have written toward the Apple user, which I certainly am. But back in the day, I was in the Microsoft boat to the extent of having my ticket as a Microsoft Systems Engineer. I made the break strictly for the light and elegant Macbook and gradually got sucked into the AppleVerse. It is certainly not the cheapest way to go with laptops although the Mac minis are, imo, far the best value in desktops. As I mentioned above, you help yourself a lot on price if you are realistic about your memory needs. And external storage is so cheap and convenient that you should never consider upsizing your SSD spec on a new Macbook. Like I said, Apple prices are pretty bouncy, but it’s not a day to day thing. And, to me, it seems rather unpredictable. Patience can definitely save you some money.Oh, and I am thrilled with this new Macbook! Did I say that?

I”m in love with my MacBook Air!

I am so glad I held out for this Macbook. I was going to get an Acer or some other laptop, but I kept coming back to the Mac. I’m an Apple gal and I do have a Samsung Galaxy tablet. But since I love Apple products, I wanted an Apple laptop. It is in a beautiful Midnight color and so easy to use.

For my 7th Macbook over 20 years, I finally stuck with the base model. I’m thrilled.

This is my 7th MacBook from Apple over the last 20 years between work and personal purchases. This one rivals the Titanium PowerBook G4 I started with. I went from a maxed out 16″ 2019 Intel MBP to this base model 15″ Air in Midnight. Unbelievably thin, light, and powerful. This is my first leap into Apple silicone outside of iPad/iPhone, and I’m blown away. I read a lot of reviews about ram and SSD size but couldn’t pass up $250 off base model sale. No regrets. I store everything in iCloud anyway so 256gb is fine, and I haven’t run into any ram issues with Adobe CS, Office or browsing. Battery is insane! I also have a total of 75 hours screen time in the last 2 weeks and have yet to computer even get warm. Thats wild! Very pleased. Great purchase!

Amazing battery life, dump your windows laptop.

Seriously good battery life. Especially on standby. With my windows 11 laptop (Dell brand) when I would close the lid, the battery would drain at a steady rate (as is usual for a windows laptop). After a few days the laptop battery level would drop significantly. With this MacBook, the battery life is astonishingly good. Even with active use e.g. Microsoft word, internet browsing, you tube, etc the battery last a very long time. I use “low power mode” when I’m not connected to a wall charger. For the person who needs to do office work on the go, this is laptop you need. I use a 65w USB C charger with this and it charges the battery faster than the default charger it comes with.I’ve never been a Mac owner or fan but I am now. I grew very weary of the never ending Microsoft Windows “forced updates.” The buggy glitches that windows has was also an aggravating time waster. When I turn on my laptop and it suddenly decides to not recognize the audio card, and now I have to restart or reinstall drivers in order to have audio playback is totally inexcusable. My MacBook just works, and is stable without all those buggy windows nonsense that I have been plagued with for the past 30 something years I’ve been computing.

    Good but not perfect

The device is very reliable unless you have multiple files and apps open all the times. There have been occasions when it gets really hot, and slow and the performance is a bit poor. But it will work perfect for students and simple easy tasks.

    Nice size MacBook Air 15.3

Purchased the MacBook Air during an Amazon sale and very happy with the purchase. Quick set up. This is an upgrade from a 13 inch to a 15.3 inch and it is easier on the eyes. So far very happy with this purchase.

    Apple’s new genius product

If you are familiar with Apple products, you are probably aware of the quality of their products. Apple is getting better and better with their laptop production since 2020(after implementing their own M series chips). This is a tiny, comfortable, user-friendly, high-quality product. Highly recommend it!

    Wish I got it sooner!

I LOVE my MacBook. I just moved on from PC and wish I made the switch years ago. I mostly use it for work and my productivity has increased tenfold. No more long startup times, slow page loading, constant updates, viruses, and all the other issues with PC. It took a few days to figure out the quick keys and how to maneuver, but now it’s a breeze. If you’re considering switching from PC, do it.

Doesn’t work too well with hubs, and has only two ports

The machine is fine. I also have an M1 Mac Mini and performance is pretty comparable. The screen is pretty small so whenever possible I use it with a second display, which occupies one of the two USB ports. That leaves one port for a time machine drive, an external storage device, a camera, etc. This machine doesn’t work too well with USB hubs either, often dropping an existing device when a new one is connected. So, machine restarts are often needed – restart to do a TM backup, restart to download a camera, restart to edit some photos. I’m getting used to it, but it’s not very convenient.

Beautiful laptop. I wish it had more memory.

This laptop is undoubtedly a thing of beauty, boasting an elegant design both inside and out. The keyboard is a delight to type on (in fact, I’m using it to craft this very review!), the hinges are nice and sturdy, and the battery life is simply exceptional. I’ve managed to work through almost an entire day on a single charge! My only qualm, and the reason for my one-star deduction, lies in the 8 GB of RAM, which falls just short of being sufficient. For instance, using Chrome with multiple tabs open on this laptop proves to be a frustrating experience, with everything grinding to a halt or becoming painfully slow. Safari, on the other hand, performs well enough even with multiple windows and tabs open. While it’s certainly manageable, it’s far from ideal. In hindsight, I should have opted for the 16 GB version of this laptop.

    Another one to love

This is my second MacBook. My first one lasted me 10 years of very heavy use. I used it to get all the way through grad school, running a business, and for personal use. Sure, it slowed down at the end, that’s why this new laptop Was so welcome to our family. I hope to keep it around for many years to come as it is comfortable, still relatively lightweight, and is very easy to use.

    Great Laptop!!

I bought this for my wife – And she absolutely loves this MacBook Air!! She was a bit hard to convince to go with Apple, but she’s a believer now!! (-: It’s fast and has a very clear display and it didn’t take her long to figure out how to run it. Part of what helped to convince her is I’ve had the same MacBook Pro since 2014 and am still happy with it. This replaced her 2nd crappy, slow, virus infected windows laptop. She said that now she wishes she would have got a MacBook a long time ago!!I highly recommend this laptop – The initial price is a bit more expensive than a windows machine – But if you divide it by the number of years of use you get out of it, it’s actually cheaper in the long run. And a lot less frustrating!! Thank You.

    First-time MacBook User Experience- Great!

First off, I’m not a student, and I don’t use a computer for work; I mostly use this for writing in word and looking things up on the Internet (but I plan on doing some photo editing/video editing). So, until now, I never wanted to spend much for a laptop. Now, I’m an Apple guy–iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad etc.–but all my computers have been PC’s. I’m not at all computer savvy but feel I at least understand PC’s, was “raised” on them. I didn’t want to completely relearn how to use a computer! My last HP Stream was VERY slow, almost right out of the box. So for a while now I’ve used my iPad to do what I needed to do, set up like a laptop with bluetooth keyboard and mouse. But recently I wanted something with a little more capability. So I thought, I’ve used Apple products for YEARS now and am essentially using my iPad as a laptop too…why not get a MacBook?!? So I went to Amazon and started to obsessively search.Initially I almost went with the 2020 13″ M1 MacBook Air, because it was less than $1000 and seemed to be enough for what I needed. Now, I do not AT ALL understand what the M1 is or the M2, but I learned that before that, Intel chips were used, which I knew was also in HP computers, so I rightly or wrongly associate them with “slow”.(My apologies to people who actually understand computers, because this review and my thought process probably seems really primitive and simple!)So my reasoning was, for only a couple hundred more, it would be better to just get the M2, because things become obsolete SO FAST! Having the latest technology at least assures me that I’ll have some time before the next new thing comes out, and/or will be slowed down by updates.I can now honestly say I’m glad I made the switch! The Set-up kind of took a while and needed to update right after, so I was nervous that everything would be slow. But once set-up was done–ZOOM! This is easily the fastest computer I’ve ever had. When the computer is asleep and I wake it up, I simply put my finger on the fingerprint reader and it INSTANTLY opens to wherever I left off at. No loading or that awkward first-wake-up slowness all of my other computers have had–when I say it instantly starts I mean it! The display is crystal-clear, battery life so far has been great, and the “control area” (where you move the mouse and click) is huge (shown in picture)! And physically, the computer feels very premium, with a metal body instead of plastic. That leads to my one and only gripe with this computer. Because the body is made of metal, the edges are hard and “sharp”, rather than rounded. So when I’m typing for a while, my wrists start to hurt from the edge digging into my skin. I’ve tried to show what I mean in the picture. That being said, it’s a very minor issue, more of an irritant. Does it make me regret my decision or want to return it? Not at all! But it’s something I haven’t seen anyone else mention, so it’s just something to be aware of if you plan on typing a lot.Anyway, if you’re like me and considering to switch from a PC, I HIGHLY recommend that you do; you won’t regret it. Are there things to learn? Yes, as with anything new. But if you’re even a little familiar with apple products, you should be fine as they all work pretty much the same.

Finally took the plunge into the MacBook world. I really like this machine. I have used a few MacBooks on job sites but have always owned Windows based gear.I use my computers for email and all the typical computing things but also for my DJ’ing and audio software. This MacBook Air is a great running machine, runs all my software perfectly!!This is definitely a great choice and value for anyone!

Classy looking Apple laptop – at a GREAT price

I switched from a Windows PC to an Apple iMac 24 about 2 years ago. The transition was rather easy going from one OS to another and I’m now an Apple Head!I researched ad nauseam for a companion laptop and decided on the 15.3″ based on features and price. Initially I am quite pleased with my purchase. Many reviews noted the MBA weight (3.3lbs) which they classified as ‘hefty’ (compared to the MBA 13) but upon receipt of my MBA 15, I was pleasantly surprised at how ‘Airy’ it felt – hence the name Macbook Air!! Setup was a breeze and I airdropped the bookmarks & passwords from my Mac to the Air – one/two and done! I’m not keen on the touchpad method to navigate the apps/features/settings but I’ll get the hang of it over time. From what I’ve read, this device should provide many years of trouble free use and I recommend giving this laptop a consideration should it suit your needs/requirements.

    Perfect! Super fast, powerful computer

Arrived in perfect condition, definitely genuine Apple brand new product. The 15” retina screen is a game changer. A little heavier than my 13 MB PRO, but the battery life more than makes up for that… 14 hours of running nonstop and still at 30%.Completely satisfied with this purchase

    Great Laptop

I have had this laptop for several months, and have been very happy with it. Previously had a MacBook Air that lasted 4 years. I am very impressed with the advancements compared to previous laptop. Battery life is significantly improved compared to my older Mac Air. Screen quality is a major improvement as well and makes watching videos more enjoyable.

    Love it

I am so happy with this. I had an old MacBook Air that was not the greatest. The battery ran down pretty quickly and if it got down to 60% battery life, I had to plug it in or it would die. It was my first time using a MacBook, so I didn’t know if that’s just how it was or not. Well my mom got this new one and it was so nice. So I purchased it and am so much happier with this.

    Amazing value and super solid

I ended up getting one of these for $1049 15″ (base spec), and everyone on the net complains saying the base spec is useless, but that is nonsense after testing that theory for my usage; everything is a use case after all… And even if that advice ends up being true, I’d rather just upgrade to an M3 or M4 device vs trying to fight through the obsolescence of laptops by trying to max specs out to make it “last the next 5 years.” That’s just not realistic IMOSo, I use this for work and here is what that looks like:Chrome, ~4 tabs open with Outlook, MS Teams, Salesforce, and usually a single search going. With this, I usually have a Word doc and sometimes a Zoom Meeting in progress. All of which amount to right around 4.5-5gb/8gb of ram used with no swap and no issues. Amazing battery life, great keyboard, and love the larger 15″ screen. Restart you Mac weekly, close stuff you’re not using and those 30 open tabs you’re not going to use.

    Love mine

I’ve been on again off again with Macs, the last I used was a 2020 13” MacBook Pro. The laptop I was using before this was a 17 inch lg gram. I can confidently say that this laptop destroys both. I love the speed of the m2 chip and the added screen size finally at a cheaper price than the 16” MacBook pros. I miss the touch bar a bit from my MacBook Pro but the additional screen size more than makes up for it in my opinion. I really can’t think of what more I could ask for in a laptop, I really love the updated design of these MacBooks with the more square design and the notch with the upgraded camera. Overall a great buy, and a fantastic one if you can get it on sale!
